| Ancient Greece Living history experience designed to introduce students to daily life in Ancient Athens during it’s Golden Age. " Visitors arriving in for the festival of Dionysus" are met outside the city where they are provided with background information about Greece during this era; it's geography, climate and culture. Upon entering the gates of the city of Athens, students will participate in a informative, hands – on experience they will never forget. Program Highlights: Visit the Agora, the central marketplace, where activities include: A step inside a Greek home to help with chores, play games, try instruments and foods ; time at the school to learn lessons on a wax tablet; a stop at the gymnasium for exercise and a visit to the marketplace to try on clothing and jewelry; taste foods of the time and weigh items for sale. Greek theatre - students are invited into the Theatre of Dionysus at the base of the Acropolis. Here they will watch and participate in a series of short plays. Pottery shop - At the pottery shop students will listen to an informative talk and participate in assisting the master potter in painting their own pot. ( Individual classes - 1 hour ) |
