| Oregon Trail Two part living history program based on the era of the westward movement in the United States : Program Highlights: Part One - Play called Journey to Oregon Follow Amanda and her brother Jesse as they journey from Iowa to Oregon in 1845. This fifty minute play includes exciting and informative storytelling, wonderful period costumes, participation by students in music of the era and more. Question and answer follows the performance. ( up to 100 students ) Part two - Ft. Laramie - Hands on pioneer workshop ( Individual classes - one hour ) Visit the general store where activities include grinding coffee, weighing items for sale, shopping for clothes and sampling foods emigrants ate along the trail. Outside the general store authentic toys and games of the era, are set up for children to play with. No visit is complete without stopping at the post office to write a correspondence with a quill pen. |
